Screenshot/Screenie is a picture of your computer monitor and is used as proof for scams/trades that are done through Black Market. Screenshots are a must when it comes to reporting people who scammed you during trades.
Regardless of a Middleman present in the trade or not, everyone should take screenshots of every single trade!
Which Screenshots to take:
If you got scammed, then you are required to show some screenshots as proof to ban the scammer. The following are must and text logs of your MSN is not accepted!
First of all, in any trades, ask the person who is doing the trade with you to Private Message(PM) you in ***** with the MSN/AIM address he is going to use so you know its really him!
1- MSN Chat window screenshot with the email address (clearly visible) of the person/people you are talking with. Take two screenshots if you are talking with 2 people (say one trader and other being MM)
2- Runescape screenshot of the first trade window.
3- Runescape screenshot of the second trade window
4- If available, other screenshots, such as the person PMing you his/her MSN here in ***** & extra screenshots of the MSN chat window (regarding agreements)
Examples of above screenshots [names are blocked because these are examples of course]
1. MSN Chat Screenshot: In MSN, we have two lines of display names. 1st line is the main one, and 2nd line is where it shows the songs you are playing etc. Normally, email address of the person you are talking will show right at then end of 2nd line. So, make sure you taking screenshot of that email.
You can find the real email address by putting your mouse over the second line. Some people put different emails in the 2nd line to confuse you & to scam. So always make sure, you are taking the screenshot as noted in the picture below. A screenshot alike this is very important when reporting a scammer
Now like I said before, those 3 screenshots are efficient and if you still got more, thats fine.
You can report the scammer (if you got scammed) by going going to Report a Scammer section!
Reporting people for scamming w/o proof can cost you a infraction or a ban.
How to take the Screenshot and Host it
+| First, press the screenshot its next to scroll lock it says print screen/sysrq button in your keyboard (refer to image below) once, at the occasion where you want to take a screenie.
Note: Initially the screenshot would be saved in memory when you first pressed the button and only one can be saved at one time! So if you want to take another screenshot, then you must save your first one using through this process and then try again.
+| Now click Start button -> Run
+| Then type in "mspaint" without the quotes and hit OK, or do this start button--->accories-->paint
+| Now you will have the Microsoft Paint open. Click Edit -> Paste. This will paste the screenshot you took.
+| Now save the file somewhere using the File -> Save As command. Make sure you choose 'PNG' format from the drop down menu!
+| Well done, you've saved your screenshot. Repeat this process till you get many screenshots as possible. Then go to
www.imageshack.us and click Browse. In the pop up window, choose your screenshot file that you just saved and click Open. Then at last click Host It in the website and the website will upload your picture!
+| Now you will be taken to a window that look alike the following picture. Select the text that appears next to Hotlink for forums (1) and paste it on where ever you want the screenshot to appear! Viola! You are done.
Of course, repeat this for every screenshot
